TRAILS TO TALES WEBSITE ACCESSIBILITY PROJECT

Community Foundation 2017 Grant Recipients

SALT Development has been awarded a $15,000 grant by The Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Fund for the Disabled of the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region to make the Trails to Tales of Schoharie County website more accessible for people who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, have photosensitivity, low vision, and/or other disabilities. In addition, SALT has secured funds from the Golub Foundation and a local donor as match for the project.

SALT Development will be partnering with Schoharie ARC staff and the people they serve to gather feedback on how the website can be improved. In addition, the website will be updated to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, the international standard for making online content usable for people with disabilities. Closed captioning will also be added to video and audio clips on the website.
