In 2011 Schoharie County was hit by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee. Schoharie Area Long Term, Inc. (SALT) responded to the disaster and helped residents and businesses impacted by flood waters. While great strides have been made, many communities are still in the process of recuperating and rediscovering all of the things that make this area unique. For this reason, SALT developed Trails to Tales of Schoharie County to help foster community resilience and economic revitalization.
We encourage residents and businesses alike to celebrate the many arts, cultural, and historical treasures that surround them, and invite visitors to discover and explore this beautiful region by following the trails we are blazing throughout Schoharie County.
Please consider donating to Trail to Tales. Your donation helps strengthen the local economy, improves disaster recovery readiness and builds a more resilient community.
